Obituary for Evelyn Louise Busch (vennard)

Evelyn Louise Busch (vennard)
Evelyn Louise Busch passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in Broadview, Saskatchewan. Evelyn was born January 25, 1921 and lived in the Forrest Farm area. She met and married John, and they enjoyed 58 years of marriage, 18 of which were spent in retirement. They spent 15 winters in Arizona and enjoyed the warm weather and meeting new friends.

John and Evelyn had three children: Lorraine Filpula of Calgary, Shirley Reilly of Regina and Joan (John) Foster of Swift Current. Their family grew to include nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband John, her two sons-in-law Bernard Filpula and Carl Reilly and grandchild Kimberly Filpula.

Mom was known around Whitewood for her sewing skills. She enjoyed meeting people, and doing alterations for people allowed her to meet many people. Mom loved playing cards. We even have a card game named after her because when we asked what game we should play, she always chose a particular one so we started calling it Evelyn's game. Mom loved music. She sang in the Anglican church choir and with the Pleasant Company Singers. She also enjoyed the companionship that the group gave her. Mom met every change in her life like a champion. When she left her house to move to Green Street, it was hard, but the residents and staff at Green Street made the move easier. Moving to the Centennial Lodge in Broadview was also made easier by the people there and the staff. Thank You from the family.

At this time we, Evelyn's family, would like to thank everyone for being part of Mom's life. We are very proud of the life she led and understand that it takes many people to make a life a happy one.

"Welcome each new moment and open your eyes to the positive value that it brings. Sometimes the value is obvious, and other times it is hidden, yet always it is there. Let life come, with all its treasures and all its shortcomings. Let life come, every bit of it and be truly, gloriously alive."
