Obituary for George Siebel

George Siebel
George Siebel, born February 26, 1942, passed away July 25, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Cologne, Germany to Werner and Hildegard Siebel. After the death of his mother, the family emigrated to Canada and moved to Whitewood, Saskatchewan in 1952. He went to school in Whitewood and helped in the family’s electrical business. In 1958, his stepmom Eva Siebel (Schoele) joined the family. George branched out and moved to Regina as an electrician, and there he met the love of his life, Marilyn. They married December 26, 1963. George continued working in construction as a heavy equipment operator. In September 1964, they were blessed with a daughter Heidi, and then again in November 1965 a son, Barry. They lived in Calgary until he retired, at which time George and Marilyn moved to Victoria, where they spent 17 glorious years living near the ocean, travelling and spending time with their dear friends Rick and Donna Pawlas. George has come full circle as they moved back to Whitewood in 2006 to help care for his stepmom Eva.

George was predeceased by his mother Hildegard, his father Werner, stepmom Eva, sister Hannelore and his inlaws Jacob and Dorothy Giesbrecht. He leaves behind his beautiful bride of 50 years Marilyn, his daughter Heidi (Kelly), his granddaughters Caitlin and Justine, his son Barry (Toby), his grandsons Riley and Quinn. He is also survived by his brother Horst (Erika) and their families, sisters-in-law Margot (Ed), Pat (Brian), Elaine (Mike), brother-in-law Wayne (Darlene) and many nephews and nieces
