Obituary for
Linda Ruth Bucsis (McIntyre)
Linda was born October 29, 1967 in Moosomin, Saskatchewan. Her family moved to Westview just outside of Melville where her father, Joe McIntyre, operated a chicken barn. Later in life, the family moved to Melville because Joe’s health would not permit him to run the operation.
Linda attended school all those years in Melville. She was a quiet, shy person but had the kindest heart and good spirit, an attribute passed down to her from her mother, Freda. During her time in school, she would babysit for extra money. After Linda married her husband, Calvin, she continued babysitting, having two children of her own, Chantel and Krista. She had patience and love for all the children, both hers and those she babysat.
Eventually her girls grew up, and it was time for Linda to move on from babysitting. She worked at the Classic Inn, then eventually became the manager at the Melville Inn/CN Bunkhouse. During this time, she showered all her love and attention on her grandchildren.
Then in 2013, cancer snuck up on her and stole her golden years. She fought hard and true but the beast would not let go. At that time, Linda accepted her mortality, made her peace and went out on her terms.
Not enough words can describe the positive impact she had on people, from friends to siblings to total strangers. Linda was a woman who never liked the spotlight shone on her. She was truly a beautiful, unique soul with a heart of gold and the patience of a saint.
Linda was predeceased by her parents, Joe and Freda McIntrye, and infant sister, Brenda. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Calvin, and her daughters, Chantel (Shea) Ottenbreit and Krista (Brad) Duret. She will forever love her grandchildren: from Chantel, Kaden, Kali, Keenan and Kashton; and Krissy’s little girl, Raquel.
