Condolence: A Francis story: Calvin and I were doing the loop on our bikes, we started at his place then went past Roadside school and past Bobbie's up to the Frick land and then down to the grid, to head back to his place. We ran into some wayward cattle, we assumed they belonged to A and F. We drove into the yard and reported to Francis, she jumped on a bike ( probably Richie's ) and we took her to the cattle, it was their milk cows. We then herded them back from whence they came and Francis proceeded to mend the broken fence. Calvin and I were quite impressed, we had never seen one of the farm ladies ride a bike, not to mention with a dress on, We also had never seen a woman fix fence. We finished this little excursion sitting in the Schweitzer kitchen enjoying some milk and cookies and being made to feel important for what we had done. Condolences to family and the many people who were made to feel as family.

Condolence: The community of farmers in the Roadside school district was large in numbers. Frances is the last survivor of that area and with her passing, we no longer have the ability to ask and learn things about that era. We lose touch with a lot of our past and what we are made of, it is sad for all of us. Frances always made us feel that we were part of her extended family, she was quite sincere when she would ask about what is happening in our lives. Her card to us when Mom died mentioned the following " Friends Forever ", when I relook at this, I am reminded about how important neighbours were when we were growing up. Annette and I are saddened by her death but will always remember her genuine caring for her friends. Condolences to immediate and extended family.
