Obituary for Doreen May Stoll

Doreen May Stoll
Doreen May Stoll was born on May 14, 1932, to Florence and Alex Danylczuk. She was baptized May 23, 1932, in Melville at St. George’s Church. She was confirmed as an adult on December 8, 1955, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Melville by Pastor Henry Krikau.

Doreen grew up in Neudorf and went to school there. Doreen and Wilbert were married in October 1957. Together they farmed south of Neudorf and were blessed with three children, Sharon Mae, Timothy Wilbert and Kevin Kim.

Doreen loved the peace and quiet of the farm and enjoyed helping Wilbert at whatever had to be done. She enjoyed hauling grain; you could hear her singing while waiting for the hopper to fill up. They were a busy family, involved in hockey, curling, ball, figure skating, drama, church, you name it. They were very proud of their family; they were their pride and joy.

Doreen worked casually at the Neudorf Hospital, as well as at St. Peter’s Hospital in Melville with the Sisters of St. Michael as a nurses’ aid; she learned a lot from them. She then went to work at Sier’s Department store in Melville in the ladies’ wear department until she married Wilbert.

Doreen was an activity director for the Seniors’ Golden Sunset club, secretary/treasurer for the Neudorf Hall board, president of the Ladies Curling Club, and she was on the Housing Authority board for a short while. Doreen directed Christ Lutheran junior choir for eight years and loved every minute of it. She always said she had a wonderful group of children and that those were the best years of her life! She gave God thanks for being able to serve him. Doreen also sang in the senior church choir.

When Wilbert passed away, Doreen was devastated; you never saw one without the other. They enjoyed their life and lived it to the fullest.

Doreen was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Florence (nee Henderson) Danylczuk; great-grandson Jordan Stoll; brother and sister-in-law Jack and Denise; brothers-in-law David Alcorn, Doug Gaetz, Clifford Earl and niece Angela Earl; great-nephew Nathan Danylczuk; father-in-law and mother-in-law Konrad and Katherina Stoll; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Karl and Winnie Stoll, Alfred and Lillian Senft, Reinhold and Emma Senft; brothers-in-law Lloyd Stoll, Adam Ulmer and Elmer Senft; nephews Gerald and Kent Stoll; niece Arlene Kessler.

She leaves to mourn her passing: daughter, Sharon (Blair) Pope; sons Tim (Sherri) Stoll and Kevin (Corrie) Stoll; grandchildren Jeremy (Michelle) Pope, Kelly (Wendy) Stoll, Jarret Stoll (Erin Andrews), Brittany Pope, Ashley Wilson, Whitney (Tristan) Mann, Jana Stoll and Connor Stoll; great-grandchildren Madison Stoll, Carson and Quinn Pope, Madyn and Nash wilson, and Ayla Mann; siblings, Bill (Fran) Danylczuk, Jean (Wayne) Johns and Joyce Gaetz; brothers-in-law Herb (Sue) Stoll, Len (Clara) Stoll; sisters-in-law Delores Stoll, Adeline Senft and Shirley Ulmer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
