Obituary for Noreen Cymbalisty

Noreen Cymbalisty
Noreen Cymbalisty, age 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 9, 2018, at St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville, SK.

Noreen was born on September 9, 1932, in Melville, SK, and was the third oldest daughter of Adolf and Theresa “Daisy” Kurtz. She shared many fond memories of her childhood with her siblings, including playing softball, exploring the dam and going for picnics.

In 1954, Noreen married the love of her life, Eugene Cymbalisty. From this union, the couple had four daughters.

Noreen was a hard worker, who spent many years cooking up a storm for family and friends. She loved working in her garden and yard, where she created her own beautiful oasis. Noreen devoted many hours to the church, baking, serving and eventually becoming a deacon. She also enjoyed spending time with friends, having coffee and playing in the Melville Bowling League.

Noreen was predeceased by her parents, Adolf and Theresa “Daisy” Kurtz; sisters Pearl, Marjorie and Ruby and her brother Henry. She will be forever in our hearts and lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years, Eugene; daughters Eugenie Cymbalisty, Nanaimo, BC; Leslie (Ken) Matechuk, White City, SK; Sharon (Tom) Rokosh, Melville, SK; Joanne (Byron) Peterson, Winnipeg, MB; sisters Grace Parsons and Shirley Myers; brothers Herbert (Grace) Kurtz, Art (Chris) Kurtz, Adolph (Louise) Kurtz, Harry (Maureen) Kurtz, Clifford (Lynn) Kurtz; eight loving grandchildren, seven loving great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Noreen will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Cremation has taken place; a service and burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

The family wishes to thank everyone who took the time to visit Noreen. A special thanks to Noreen’s niece, Lynn Torlen, for her friendship and for spending countless hours driving Noreen to see Eugene and to various appointments. A special thank you to Dr. Cottingham and the staff at St. Paul Lutheran Home.
