Obituary for
Diane Winnifred Waldbauer (Goebel)
Diane Waldbauer passed away suddenly on October 10, 2014 at the age of 61. She was born February 7, 1953 to Ben and Winnie Goebel and was raised on the farm near Neudorf. She attended Pheasant Hills School, and after the country schools closed, she continued schooling in the town of Neudorf. After high school Diane completed a secretarial course in Moose Jaw and later worked at Co-operators in Regina.
On August 6, 1971 she was united in marriage to Jim Waldbauer. They moved to Regina where they both worked until 1975 when they moved back to the farm in Neudorf. They were blessed with four children: Cheryl, Jaclyn, Jody and Andrew. After the children completed elementary school, Diane returned to work at Neudorf School and later for the Prairie Valley School Division.
Diane and Jim had enjoyed 42 years of marriage. In recent years they had enjoyed traveling both on their own and with friends. Whether on a bus trip or a cruise, they looked forward to their vacations. Diane enjoyed life on the farm, tending to her yard and flowers, and spending time with her loyal companion Charlie. Diane took pleasure in her hobbies: painting, quilting, knitting and playing the piano.
Grandma Diane loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Whether it was reading books, colouring, painting, playing outside or just having “silly” time, the kids always looked forward to their time with their Grandma. No one could top Grandma’s back rubs and cuddles.
Diane was predeceased by her husband Jim, her father Ben Goebel and her sister-in-law Deb Goebel. She leaves behind to cherish her memory four children, Cheryl (Jeremy Miller) of Regina, Jaclyn (Donnelly) McEwen of Regina, Jody (Wayne ) Paproski of Regina and Andrew of Neudorf; her grandchildren: Belle, Emerson and Kullen McEwen; Addison, Hailey and Ella Paproski; her mother Winnie Goebel; her brothers Ray Goebel and Dan Goebel; two nieces and a nephew; as well as other relatives and many friends.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
