She was predeceased by her husband, Emil, her sisters Helen and Irene, and her brother, Fred. She is survived by: son Ernie (Shirley) Platz of Sherwood Park, AB; son Melvin (Donna) Platz of Calgary, AB; and daughter Shirley (Bev) Leggett of Winnipeg, MB; her grandchildren, Delene (Andrew) Woolner of Edmonton, AB; Darcy Platz of Edmonton, AB; Kevin (Elizabeth) Platz of Port Alberni, BC; Trevor (Theresa) Platz of Calgary, AB; Lorelei Platz of Calgary, AB; Christine (Rick) Catellier of Winnipeg, MB; Russell Leggett of Winnipeg, MB; great-grandchildren, Ashley Platz, Ian and Hannah Woolner of Edmonton, AB; and Jakob and Josiah Platz of Port Alberni, BC. She is also survived by her brother, Alex Windjack of Saskatoon, SK and sister Elena Weinzierl of Mornville, AB.

Victoria spent her early years attending Westbrook school and helping out on her father's farm. Later she worked as a housekeeper for a farmer in southern Saskatchewan. She then moved to Yorkton where she worked at a restaurant. She was introduced to Emil Platz of Birch River, MB by her future sister-in-law. Victoria and Emil were married in Melville, SK on July 13, 1947.She moved to Birch River, MB to work alongside Emil on their farm; there they raised three children. Besides milking cows and selling cream and eggs, she always planted a large garden and spent many summer hours canning and putting up preserves, especially from the large raspberry patch.

In 1974 Emil and Victoria sold the farm and retired to Melville, SK. Victoria continued to enjoy gardening and was very proud of her immaculate yard. She enjoyed travelling to spend time with her family and grandchildren. She loved fishing, camping and travelling with her family, even when the cot collapsed in the tent with her grandchildren. Victoria became an avid sports fan, especially of hockey. For many years, she was a season ticket holder of the Melville Millionaires.

In 2002 Emil and Victoria moved from Melville to Yorkton and became residents at the Fairview Arms Seniors' apartments. Emil passed away in 2003. Victoria became a resident of Theodore Health Centre in 2011 and spent her last years at the Yorkton and District Nursing Home. She enjoyed watching sports on TV, doing puzzles, playing bingo, and visits from family and friends.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Yorkton and District Nursing Home for their care and kindness given to Victoria.
