Obituary for
Yvonne Margaret Hollinger
Yvonne Margaret Hollinger passed away October 12, 2016 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Yvonne was born February 8, 1935 at the family farm north of Neudorf to Jacob and Emma (nee Ulmer) Hollinger. She was baptized at the family farm on February 22, 1935 by Rev. F.A. Miller and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Neudorf on April 10, 1949 by Rev. A. Hippe.
Yvonne attended Pheasant Hills School. In 1963 she moved to the town of Neudorf with her parents, where she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and worked as church janitor from March 1, 1984 to November 1, 1998. Yvonne took great pride in being the church bell ringer; she faithfully rang the bell every Saturday evening, early Sunday mornings and again when church started, as well as when someone passed away and on the day of the funeral. Yvonne was also a member of the Golden Sunset Seniors Club in Neudorf. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, quilting, playing cards and bingo and putting together puzzles. In August of 2002, Yvonne moved to Melville to the Queen Street Manor, where she enjoyed the fellowship of the other residents.
Yvonne was predeceased by her father, Jacob Hollinger, on September 13, 1975 and her mother, Emma Hollinger, on January 1, 1996, as well as many uncles, aunts and cousins. She is survived by an uncle, Oswald Ulmer, aunts Gladys (Keith) James, Grace Ulmer, Mardel (Elroy) Schmidt and Elaine Ulmer, as well as cousins too numerous to mention.
